It is always a privilege to present the Clinic of the Year finalist in our year-end edition. Candidates are nominated by their peers, employees and suppliers. The final selection is made after examining photographs, talking to friends and even competitors. It’s not enough that a studio or clinic looks immaculate or boasts the latest equipment. We look for a company that is committed to continuing education as a means to deliver the highest possible standards of service and we have to admit that we are also influenced by public service or involvement with the local community.

The reception area is always stocked with M&M’s, and almost all clients take a handful before they leave.

Jernigan’s is located in a tranquil, North Raleigh setting in a facility that was custom designed by Ms. Jernigan. While it has the appearance of being a large, welcoming house, inside is a state-of-the-art surgery suite, private consultation rooms and individual sitting rooms for each hair technician. It also has a “before and after” picture-taking room so clients can keep up with the progress of their hair replacement. Since so many hair replacement options are offered at Jernigan’s, consultations are offered free of charge. Taking about one hour, this is the best way for clients to privately discuss their hair loss history, genetic components of their hair loss, expectations for replacement, monetary considerations and time restraints. The Consultant is experienced in all areas of hair replacement and gives a realistic assessment of what can be done with each prospective client.
