Dr. Koher was far more than a respected professional—he was a trusted friend, mentor, colleague, and compassionate caregiver. Through his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to others, he touched countless lives and became a beloved member of the Jernigan’s family.

Before making North Carolina his home, Dr. Koher traveled from the Pittsburgh area to work with Jernigan’s, often staying with Bill and Betsy Jernigan during his visits. Those early years helped build friendships and relationships that would last a lifetime.

Dedicated to sharing his knowledge and experience, Dr. Koher played an important role in mentoring and training Dr. Bains, helping ensure continuity of care and carrying forward the values that meant so much to him.

A proud Pittsburgh native, he remained a loyal Steelers and Penguins fan throughout his life, always happy to share his enthusiasm for his hometown teams.

Over the course of 32 years, Dr. Koher helped shape not only our organization but also the lives of so many people who had the privilege of knowing him. His compassion, integrity, and genuine concern for others created a legacy that will continue to inspire us for years to come.
